Veteran Wellness Initiative (VWI) is a 501(c)3 organization established in December 2016. VWI supports evidence-based, culturally-competent Veteran-centered services, including family services, which are a critical component of this shared initiative. Our goal is to enhance the availability, accessibility, and quality of integrated of services to Veterans in the Rio Grande Valley. To this end, VWI supports Veteran-centered mental health education, Veteran/Military culture education, empowerment during military-to-civilian transitions, and advocacy. VWI also seeks to generate training opportunities in evidence-based services for health care professionals, other service providers, and businesses in the community. We are partnering with local and national mental health and wellness service providers to increase the capacity of the community to provide quality services to Veterans.

We are dedicated to improving the availability and quality of services for Veterans in the community.
